Kilve Reading Group
Meets on the first Tuesday of the month at The Hood Arms starting at 7.15pm.
The group has a flourishing membership who are interested in discussing a wide variety of novels and some non fiction too. The reading group recently celebrated its 10th Anniversary and has read over 100 books (and enjoyed most of them). Two that stand out as absolute favourites are ‘The Red Tent’ by Anita Diamant and ‘Where the Crawdads Sing’ by Delia Owens. The group enjoy a variety of genres, with crime and mystery featuring strongly. The monthly meetings often feature lively debate and it is usual to have a variety of diverse opinions about the book under discussion. An update from the group can normally be found in Kilve News.
Membership numbers are limited to keep the meetings manageable and at present there are no vacancies.

Kilve Golf Klub
Welcome
Kilve Golf Klub was founded in 2016 at a meeting in the Hood Arms in Kilve.
The aim of the club is to encourage people of all abilities to play golf in a friendly,
sociable atmosphere.
The group play twice a month. There is a monthly 9 hole competition at Cannington Golf Club on the first Thursday of the month. On the third Thursday of each month we travel to a different course in Somerset to play 18 holes and enjoy a post-match meal.
There are prizes awarded for each competition.
We are a mixed group of villagers, some of whom are already members at local clubs: Cannington, Minehead and Enmore Park.
In August we hold a summer barbecue and in November an annual awards evening.
If you are interested in joining the club please contact Mark Walton. Tel: 741095 or email: mtwalton@btinternet.com

The Grasskuteers
There has been a long tradition in the village that a team of volunteers, known as the Grasskuteers, band together and keep St Mary’s churchyard in good order.
This tradition has been going since 1998 and continues today, with a group of willing volunteers. The aim is to cut the churchyard grass once a fortnight. Each volunteer spending a maximum of two hours, three times a year, tending the churchyard in teams of three people. The teams are a mix of ladies and gentlemen. We have two well maintained lawnmowers on site at the church.
The village and the Parochial Church Council greatly appreciate our efforts in maintaining the appearance of our lovely church and grounds.
If you can spare a couple of mornings a year to help continue this worthy tradition please contact Chief Grasskuteer, Mark Walton. Tel: 741095 or email: mtwalton@btinternet.com
